Triathlon

Jason competed in his third Olympic triathlon on Saturday. It was a 1.5K swim, 30 mile bike, and 10K run. He did such a great job! He placed 182nd out of 596 with a finishing time of 2:49:56 (which was about 4 mins faster than last year). Way to go, Jay!

We had lots of family come up to support him: my mom, Jason's mom and dad, his sister Amie with her kiddos, and sister Ashley with her kiddo (and they all stayed at our house Friday night!). It was great to have so much support. Jason also had two uncles (Craig and Jeff) and an aunt (Leslie) do the race with him. It was great to see their families too, and everyone did such a great job!

Getting ready to start swimming in Lake Loveland...
Uncle Craig, Jason, and Uncle Jeff...
Uncle Craig and Aunt Leslie...
Jason and Cooper...
My sweet smiling baby... who we dragged out of bed at 5:30 that morning to watch his daddy race. I'd like to give a shout-out to my mom here... who was on Cooper duty ALL DAY so I could watch Jason. THANKS MOM!!!
The Turley family... Brittany was in charge of the volunteers. Aren't they adorable??
Out in the water, waiting for the start gun (he's in orange)...
Not a great picture, but just an idea of how many people were out there swimming. About 75 people started every 4 minutes.
Phew! The swim is over! Run to the transition area!

Getting on his bike gear...

Leaving for the bike (in the orange jersey)...

He's back! Run to the transition area again!

Getting on his running gear...

The home stretch!

The finish line!!!

Great job, honey! We are so proud of you!

Hey guys! I found your blog through some other CSUers blogs and wanted to say hi! Cooper is absolutely adorable! And this is kinda random, but Brittany and I were good friends in elementary school, so it was funny to see her in this blog post! Anyway, looks like you guys are doing well!
